Adoption Update on “Mr. Personality”, Chubby

An adoption update from Chubby’s forever family!

In the three weeks since adopting “Chub Chub”, he has completely charmed his way into our hearts and has brought so much joy back into our home. Like a little lamb, he is an irresistible cuddler and has endeared himself to everyone he meets. He has an incredibly expressive face, with eyes that speak louder than words. True to his Boston terrier personality, Chubby constantly makes us laugh, and to look at his sweet, little pink muzzle is to fall instantly in love with him.

We watch his personality blossoming daily and we witness him establishing his own rhythm to his days. He’s playing with his toys more and discovering just how much fun “fetch” can be. He loves being brushed, dozes off when I clip his nails, “talks” to me while I clean his ears, and calms himself down by sidling up to me for several, deep massage strokes along his sides.

He eats well and waits very politely until told to “dig in.” He enjoys his walks, and I have put on more miles these last three weeks than I have in a long time — which is a great thing! I don’t think he realizes that he is a “jumbo sized” Boston because he always tries to squeeze in behind or beside us wherever Tom and I happen to be sitting.

And although he balked at being crated for the first few nights, he now willingly dives into it (the crate is close to us in our bedroom), and it’s “lights out” until morning. His reward: spending time with us on our bed after the alarm goes off!

Brushing his beautiful smile remains a work in progress, as is crating him for short periods of time when I go out during the day. Because Chubby is so bright, thrives on having tasks to do, and works happily for treats, he is on the waiting list for an obedience class starting in June.

Our “Mr. Personality” has an enormous capacity to give and to receive love, and is so very trusting and sweet. He was blessed to have had such an amazing foster mom in Sally, and we are so thankful for the tender, loving care she gave him. Tom and I are also grateful for all those involved in making this wonderful match possible, and we look forward to being involved in the BTRC family.
