Adoption Update: Tessi snuggles right in!

An update from Tessi’s (formerly Texas) forever family!

With the recent passing of our beloved, Daisy, to ailment last year, this was our first time without having a dog in the house after 30 years. It sure was very quiet!

My daughter, Janet who is a volunteer with Boston Terrier Rescue Canada, knew we needed another dog in the house. For a few months, she shared several posts about a senior female dog by the name of Texas on Facebook (we later renamed her Tessi). She insisted upon how wonderful it would be if we adopted Tessi.

I had checked her story quite a bit, thought of her more daily and once there were updated photos of this sweet girl posted, I knew I had to have her. I discussed it with my husband and we debated if we were ready to bring home another dog. We decided it was time to open our hearts to another Boston Terrier and went ahead with the application for her.

After going through the home visit, interview and adoption approval, we were anxious to meet Tessi. After arranging a meeting date and time with her foster mom, Cheryl, we were told that we could meet her and think about it before taking her home. Once we arrived and met her, we knew we couldn’t go home without her.  We were meant to be a family together and adopting her on a Family Day of February 17th, 2014 was a perfect celebration.

It has been 6 weeks since we brought her home, she brings such joy to our lives. She loves to play tug-of-war with her toys with us, barks at us to let her outside to do her business (somehow, she knew we both are deaf), enjoys her daily walk, sleeps with us together on the bed, shares kisses and cuddles, and lives her life as the queen that she should be. We worship the ground she walks on and she’s our baby. Though the loss of Daisy is still with us, Tessi has brought endless smiles and laughter in our home. She is loved more than we can say and she has found her furever home.

We wanted to say a huge thank you to Cheryl, her foster mom, for taking care of her, to the other foster families and Boston Terrier Rescue Canada for all they have done endlessly and tirelessly for Tessi and ensuring that she has her furever home.

With love,
Marilyn, Michael and Tessi
