An update on Georgie

For those of you who have been following Georgie’s progress, I am happy to say that his surgery went well last Wednesday. He has a bunch of medications to take to help him heal and keep him comfy but already he is more lively and less stressed.

The two weeks going into his operation were hard because he had to be weaned off of the prednisone which kept the inflammation in his ear down. As the days passed it was hard to see him regress into rubbing his head and moaning. I tried to keep his mind busy by using the kong and the cookie ball with treats. It did help but as a result he is now a bit of a chunky monkey but I guess that will be the least of our issues.

He has to be our Candy-Cone boy for another week or so (ten days to two weeks) and he’s good about that, but many things are a bit frustrating. Never mind, upward and onward 🙂

There are many footfalls left on his journey but it is wonderful to see the change in him already with more to come as he heals and forgets about being in pain. That is what I am waiting to see! Anyway, a picture is worth many words and if you want to see him play a little (for the first time!) please have a look at this video.

Georgie thanks everyone, from the bottom of his heart, for all of your well wishes, love and financial support. Without you, he may not have had this chance to heal and start his new life!
