A foster story: Clara

We often have people come to Rescue to foster and we hear countless times the desire to foster a Boston that is “not too difficult”. It seems that so many are set on fostering that “perfect” dog. Please they say, “no big issues”. The frustration can be huge as we seek to help the Bostons that are abandoned, abused, neglected, old and sick…. the throw aways so to speak. Spring start

I smell Spring! Ahhh spring! I stepped outside today and the glorious sunshine bounced off my face. I watched my Bostons burn around the yard and then lay down in a sun beam. I then took a good look at my yard. It has been ravaged by winter. The snow is not quite gone yet but where it has disappeared there is patches of brown barren ground. What makes the Rescue world go round? Well I would love to say it’s the sloppy Boston kisses or the snuggly snoring Boston who cuddles right up. It’s love right? That is the ideal answer but reality has a different one, money. This is when reality bites. The truth of rescue is that even with all the love in the world from a group of hard working volunteers; even with available foster homes, if there is no money then we are forced to turn away Bostons that need our help.
