BTRC at the Fredericton Pet Expo

Boston Terrier Rescue Canada’s inaugural appearance at the Fredericton Pet Expo was a resounding success. The Pet Expo, an event organized by the Fredericton SPCA, was held on 9-10 November and according to reports, ‘record-setting’ numbers attended.

Our success at the Expo can be measured in two ways: by the funds we raised (just over $370) and by the amount of visitors to our booth (plenty!).

People were thrilled with the Boston Terrier swag we had for sale while the children in attendance were drawn to our Lollipop Tree Game (for both the prize they won and the lollipop they got to munch on).

Our raffle prize, an adorable wood carving of a dog, caught the attention of many passers-by who couldn’t resist purchasing a ticket (or three). The winning ticket, held by B.J. Lowry, was drawn by Karen McGeean, FSPCA Director of Marketing and Development at the close of the Expo.

Thank you to the many people who assisted me before, during, and after the Pet Expo. Our success wouldn’t have been possible without your help.

I would like to extend a BIG thank-you to Swamp Bear Art (2012 Atlantic Canadian Chainsaw Sculpting Champion) who generously donated the prize for our raffle. Visit Swamp Bear Art’s Facebook page to see his fabulous creations – he does commissions!
