GIZMO

Pam has been fostering Gizmo, a permanent foster, since January. You might all remember the recent bottle drive to help cover his growing vet bills. Giz was a sick little boy with epilepsy and pancreatitis. He had a rough go. This morning, we learned that he had a tumour which had spread. We took him for a last car ride through the 1000 Islands and picked him up a McDonald's cheeseburger before we brought him to the vet where Pam held him and he went to sleep one last time in my car where he was comfortable.
Throughout it all, Pam was a stellar mom. She recently placed him on a homecooked diet where he enjoyed salmon omlettes with grated zucchini for breakfast. He had a wonderful life with Pam and certainly gained a year that he would not have otherwise had.
We will keep collecting bottles for BTCCR in Gizmo's name. He was a fighter, and a dog that will be remembered. My thoughts are with Pam-she is truly a hero.
