Paddy Cakes
| Paddy Cakes was so named because she came to Rescue just before St. Patrick's Day. Found as a stray, she had a huge mass hanging from her side. She also had two smaller growths on her back legs, all of which were removed. Paddy is a young dog, perhaps two or three years of age, very happy, affectionate and well-behaved. Her bum has a permanent wiggle! Sadly, the mast cell tumour on her side was more invasive than it appeared, and it was impossible to remove it all. Graded as a II, there is a chance it will grow back, so it was decided Paddy would remain with BTRC. Paddy also has a bad eye, which is being cared for by a veterinary opthamologist; whether or not the eye can be saved is still being determined. BTRC will pay for Paddy's medical needs as well as ongoing costs for routine care, but could use your help!

Twooie
Twooie came to rescue from a shelter. This senior gal has a zest for life and is a loving, charming companion. Twooie needed a dental to take care of a neglected mouth as well as routine vetting including vaccinations and parasite testing, but by far her most pressing issue was a very large tumour on her leg. This huge mass was removed and found to be a grade II mast cell tumour. This type of tumor is somewhat unpredictable and because of this, coupled with Twooie's age, she entered our "Set for Life" program. Her vetting to date totals $1081.29, and Rescue will continue to provide all she needs to continue to enjoy a good quality of life. We would be grateful, as would Twooie, for your sponsorship.

Chico
Chico, a dapper and affectionate 11 year old gentleman, came to Rescue because his owner, dealing with her own health issues, could not afford the expensive medical care he required. Diagnostic studies including blood tests, electrocardiogram (EKG), thoracic radiograph and ultrasound examination of his heart determined that Chico has mitral valve disease. This condition is causing Chico to suffer from "syncope" or fainting spells. Chico's heart will need to be monitored and additional care provided as required, and for this reason he will remain with BTRC in a permanent foster home. Once it was determined it was safe to proceed, Chico also underwent a comprehensive dental surgery and was neutered, bringing the cost of his care to date to just under $2000.00. Sponsorship donations for Chico's ongoing care are greatly appreciated.
