In Memory of Brigitte Thompson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our friend and long-time Boston Terrier Rescue Canada volunteer, Brigitte Thompson, on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Brigitte was passionate about rescue and an incredible advocate for BTRC and many other organizations working to save animals in need. Always generous with her time, Brigitte would help in any way she could, from fundraising to fostering. She was also a rescue ‘road warrior’, transporting countless dogs, starting them on their rescue journey to new loving families.

Brigitte and her husband Morris were also adopters. Two BTRC foster dogs were lucky enough to join their family permanently – Zowie, who Brigitte cared for through the birth and weaning of a surprise litter of puppies, and Beasley, a 35-lb. handsome male. Both have since gone on to the Rainbow Bridge, and we are sure they, along with so many other dogs, were there to welcome Brigitte with much love.

Brigitte was also a talented artist working in a number of mediums, and among her many beautiful works were pyrography pieces she created featuring Boston Terriers.

Brigitte made an immeasurable difference in the lives of countless rescue dogs, and she will be greatly missed by her BTRC family.
