BTRC: How long have you volunteered with Boston Terrier Rescue Canada?
Sherry: I’ve been with BTRC for several years now.

BTRC: What made you want to be a BTRC volunteer?
Sherry: I help with transports. I have traveled for hours and days, east and north. I am sure it will be west some day or even south. I transport because it warms my heart to know one more baby is going to feel a warm and safe bed, a full tummy and lots of cuddles and love. The excitement I feel and see when I place that baby in the arms of a foster or adopter as my girls look at me and say, “job well done”, is my reward.

BTRC: How many pets do you own, or should I say own you?
Sherry: I have two Boston kids and they are the loves of my life. Minnie is 6 and Molly-Sue is going on 4 and is blind and of course, Lefty, the three legged BT cat.

I have a soft spot for special needs animals and a few years ago I lost Munchkin who was going into her 19th year. I still have a little cry from time to time.

BTRC: When you’re not volunteering, how do you like to spend your time?
Sherry: I work in the summers just up the road from where I live and have the winters off. I have one more summer to go then I am going to camp more. I have always lived on a farm so I love all animals.

BTRC: Socks and sandals?
Sherry: I like socks and boots. I hate sandals.

BTRC: Summer or winter?
Sherry: I love the fall and the leaves and I like winter and the snow.

BTRC: What is the craziest thing your Boston has done?
Sherry: The craziest thing my Boston did was, she had a wading pool near the well on a little hill on our farm. We were playing ball and she was hot, so she was running as fast as she could to go for a swim. She jumped into the water, slipped, hit the side and broke it. Then went rolling down the hill, water and all looking at me as if to say, “whats up?”.

BTRC: Is your Boston Terrier knick-knack collection: mild, moderate, or requiring an intervention?
Sherry: My knick-knack collection is moderate can always use more!
