Goodbye, Twooie

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Twooie shortly before Christmas at the age of 14. A mere 10 days after we celebrated her remarkable spirit and youthful enthusiasm on this blog, the light that brightened and warmed the family that loved her was forever dimmed. For 3 years, she had been the cherished foster in our Set for Life program of BTRC past president, Kelly Pankatz. And although her name was Twooie, for those who knew this sweet and sassy Boston, she was one of a kind.

Despite the health problems that plagued her and the advancing years that slowed her, she remained a source of delight, a little treasure filled only with love. She loved her yard and she loved lying on the grass in the sun. She loved her treats and she loved being cuddled. She loved the company of people and children, and she loved the companionship of other dogs and yes, even of cats. She was a stunning spokesdog for aging in retirement with sweetness, dignity and grace. With her fringed, red scarf tied jauntily around her neck, she leaves our larger Boston family for the smaller one awaiting her arrival at the Bridge.
