ADOPTED: Buddy

Adopted February 14, 2015

Black and white at first glance, all it takes is a shaft of sunlight to turn Buddy’s bristled coat into an eye-catching brindle. If ever there was a perfect example of the perfect American Gentleman, it is this 3-year-old Boston.

Loving and lovable, Buddy is the ultimate cuddle buddy, whether burrowing beneath a blanket with you or curling up next to you on the couch. He never tires of giving kisses, and will gently tap you on the arm with his paw to let you know that he wants more attention and even more affection.

Warm and friendly Buddy loves every human and canine he meets, turning them all into his new best buddies, and even when he and the other dogs in his foster home play, wrestle and compete for bones, it’s always just fun and games.

Although his one contact with a cat had him barking and chasing it at first, he eventually left the cat alone. He knows only a few of his basic commands (having come from Montreal, he may have learned them in French), but because he’s so bright and so eager to please, he will, with some training, learn more.

Both crate and housetrained, Buddy goes to the door when he needs to be let out, and he can remain free in the house for brief periods of time. As much as this Boston loves his walks, he’s not a fan of winter, and on the coldest days, prefers to stay indoors. Buddy’s dream of a forever home is one with warm, loving owners, possibly with another dog for fun and games, but without small children or smaller pets.
