ADOPTED: Lewis

Adopted March 15, 2015

Head tilted quizzically, large eyes, innocent and wide, mischievous Lewis is the picture of puppy perfection. Barely 3 months old and weighing 7 pounds, this fun and feisty guy is a unique blend of Boston terrier and Maltese/Yorkshire terrier.

A black and white bundle of curiosity, fearlessness and high-octane energy, Lewis is extremely intelligent and highly trainable, responding eagerly to both food and toy rewards.

The bitter cold has hampered his housetraining, and because he’s still too young to “hold it” he has been using pee pads to assist. As with all growing, exploring, inquisitive pups, Lewis requires a firm foundation upon which to build and hone his future doggy skills. To assure the success of that future, he needs a special someone with a loving sense of humour, who’s willing and eager to invest the time and patience needed to train the mind and exercise the body of this bright and active 3-month-old. The importance of obedience classes, with positive reinforcement training methods, can’t be stressed enough. It will not only help form a lasting bond between Lewis and his new human, but will exercise both his body and his mind, and help him to grow into a well-mannered and balanced four-legged best friend.

Lewis gets along very well with other dogs we have met and currently shares his a home with 3 year old foster sister, Phoebe. We believe Lewis would do best in a home with another dog as a playmate and to learn and grow to become a wonderful family member.

Lewis has not been exposed to cats, however we are confident if a feline friend was dog friendly, they would do just fine together.
