ADOPTED: Lucy

Adopted November 12, 2015

Adding to lovely Lucy’s fashionable look is her fuchsia collar and matching jacket. Couple that with the splashes of gray across her full white bib, and this beautiful Boston is truly a show stopper.

One of the most sociable sweeties on the canine circuit, hap, hap, happy Lucy makes every person she meets her new best friend, and her endless enthusiasm about absolutely everything is most happily contagious. Because she thrives on human contact, one of her favourite pastimes is cuddling up next to her foster mom on the couch and covering her with copious kisses. Then, being a typical Boston, there’s quality time spent stretched out on the grass or on the deck in the sunshine.

Highly active and energetic as well, Lucy loves playing fetch (she could play fetch for hours) and going for walks. Although she may pull at first, she relaxes on leash within minutes, proving herself not only an ideal walking companion, but one with excellent recall, who also listens very well.

An occasional barker, Lucy only barks briefly when someone is at the door or when greeting the other neighborhood dogs. Meeting new dogs, however, brings out the bossiness in her, and mealtime brings out her quirkiness: she won’t eat if her food bowl is touching anything. Simply move the bowl into its own “Lucy” space, and all is well again.

Already crate trained, her housetraining remains a work in progress, and although she knows to “ask” when it’s time to potty, excitement will often trigger “accidents” indoors. She does well when left on her own inside an enclosed area, and this too has helped with her training. But what lovely Lucy needs now is an adoptive home — with NO other dogs or cats to continue and perfect these skills, one where she will be the sole focus of her people’s attention just as they will be hers.
