ADOPTED: Nikki

Adopted November 26, 2014

With her large, perked ears, huge eyes and regal stance, Nikki, the 6-year-old Boston mix is one beautifully shaped little brindle.

Known as the “watch dog” because nothing escapes her watchful eye, she loves keeping watch on the world outside her window and on the whereabouts of her foster mom – the easier to follow behind her. As bright as a little black and white button, Nikki is quick to learn and eager to please. She is the picture of poise and polish around the house, during meal times, and at night, when she readily retires to her own doggy bed.

Happy and outgoing, active and energetic, she enjoys meeting new people (young children are a question mark at the moment) and lives harmoniously with the cat in her foster home. Uneasy around other dogs, however, with a tendency to growl and lunge, Nikki and her foster mom have worked diligently and successfully with a BTRC behaviourist to properly re-socialize her. Now, the new and improved Nikki is thriving as she continues to perfect these skills.

Essential then in her forever home, one where she is the only dog, are firm, confident and loving “pet parents” who will continue the lessons Nikki has learned, and who will keep her well exercised and well stimulated without overwhelming her. In return, they will be “gifted” with a lifetime of love and affection that only this gorgeous, gregarious girl can give.
