Her large soulful eyes speak volumes. Pert and pretty at a petite 16 pounds, this aptly named Boston steals the hearts of everyone she meets.

Precious Peanut is precisely that, small and sweet and good enough to eat. Although her past has left her slightly cautious around strangers, with those she knows, she’s sunshine itself, happily open to scratches behind her ears, and jumping in circles at the sight of her leash in her eagerness to go outside. On walks with her foster mom, she understands most commands, and together they have nearly perfected the “stay” command.

Initially hesitant around other dogs, with the proper encouragement, timid Peanut becomes excited Peanut. In fact, she now loves going on group walks with her neighbourhood friends, and has even grown gentle and loving towards cats.

Although the concept of toys remains foreign to her, she seems perfectly content with walking and napping, snuggling and shadowing her foster mom. She behaves well on car rides, but because of her sensitive stomach, she does become carsick.

Seemingly intolerant to chicken and grain, her diet consists mainly of fish and lamb, with fish oil for her skin and immune system. An adrenal gland formula helps with her occasional nervousness caused by loud noises (trucks, buses and raised voices frighten her most). In addition to this, this lovable little lady has slight corneal scarring from a previous ulcer (no drops are needed), a low-grade heart murmur, and some cardiac valve disease (no meds are currently needed).

Because Peanut is more about cuddling than capering, she would be an ideal lapdog and companion for some gentle someone in a calm and quiet home.
