ADOPTED: Sally

Adopted May 8, 2015

Those ears, those eyes, that face just begging to be smooshed! That’s sweet Sally, who, at 10 years young, is oh-so-pretty in pink. In spite of her unknown origins, she is highly forgiving and exudes both gratitude and love, with the zest and zip of a Boston half her age. This happy honey is, quite simply, in love with life and all it can offer.

Sociable Sally loves to go for walks and for car rides, to snuggle on laps and under blankets, to meet new people and play with cats and dogs – especially calm, well-balanced ones. Show her a forward dog, however, and she quickly shows them who’s boss. On a recent visit to a seniors’ residence, she received each person’s petting and loving with gentle acceptance, and when she met her first calm, gentle child, their interaction was easy and warm. All this from a beautiful Boston whose diminished sight allows her to only see shadows. And yet, smiling Sally is the picture of poise and confidence, who readily follows instructions (and her people), and is utterly fearless about trying new things.

She’s extremely well behaved on leash, staying close to her foster mom’s legs to sense where she is, and jumps up onto the furniture (yes, the furniture) with effortless grace. And although this peppy pooch will quickly mount the stairs, some guidance is needed to temper her famous fearless streak.

A healthy eater (high quality grain-free food), she eats well in her crate, and although she’s now crate trained, she can, at times, grow anxious, but quickly settles again with calm reassurances. She’s also fully housetrained, but still requires frequent trips outside (every two hours or so), and yet she’ll sleep through the night, undisturbed, in her crate.

Ever the well mannered miss, Sally sits quietly for the meds she receives twice a day for dry eye. Now, fearless in her pursuit of life’s next adventure, Sally, the self-starter, plans to find it in a loving forever home.
