ADOPTED: Zoey

Adopted November 12, 2015

If you’re looking for Zoey, check out the nearest blanket. Why? For the simple reason that this calm and quiet “American Lady” loves burrowing under blankets. Draw the good-natured gal out and she will happily play with other dogs, and when she recently came face to face with a small pet pig, theirs was a friendly meet and greet without incident. In fact, Zoey’s foster mom has dotingly dubbed her “Miss Piggy” due to the fact that she dines twice and day and could, if allowed, eat, eat, eat in between.

Thankfully, though, playtime intervenes, and Zoey zooms into active mode, energetically playing fetch, her favourite of all games. She also has the endearing habit of greeting her foster mom by jumping straight up into her arms, and an enviable sense of humour that, if she could speak, would make her the life of the party.

As for sleeping arrangements, Zoey has a choice of two — on a pillow inside her crate or in bed with her foster mom, and being fully house and crate trained, she always alerts her foster mom when she has to go outside.

Surrendered to us due to her severe allergies, Zoey is now on a successful regimen of one tablet of Vanectyl-P in the morning and one at night, taken with ice cold water, which must be kept in the refrigerator. She’s also on a strict vegetarian diet, with carrots and raw potatoes as her favourite snacks. If she begins breaking out in a rash, either cooling her skin with an ice cube or placing her in a cool bath drains the heat from her body, allowing the rash to subside. But to ensure the removal of any and all allergens from her skin, she’s bathed in cool water every two days, and shampooed with baby shampoo every 10 days.

Now that this fine Boston Lady is looking for a forever home, it MUST be with adopters committed to continuing this regime, not to mention keeping her supplied with the blankets she loves.
