T’is the Season for Texas!

T’is the season to be jolly and for a pert, little Boston named Texas, to be pretty. In pink. With her unusual pink markings, Texas is a genuine head turner.

She is also one of the most affectionate dogs imaginable. She loves greeting her “people” with kisses and gladly accepts belly rubs in return. She’s also a “peek-a-boo”girl. Her favourite pastime: fluffing up the nearest blanket, then hiding inside it, with only her nose peeking out. Her second favourite pastime: working to get the peanut butter out of her rubber bone.

Having lost the sight in her right eye due to severe cataracts, she can’t play fetch, but she does play with toys that squeak. And if someone plays tug of war with her, she’ll sometimes let them win!

She’s also a very quick learner, having easily mastered her moves around her foster parents’ home and backyard. Although she’s officially a senior Boston, Texas thoroughly enjoys her daily 15 minute walks, and amuses everyone by seeming to jump down the driveway as they’re setting off. However, due to her impaired vision, she’s more vulnerable to sudden sounds and movements, and startles easily when she’s not approached from the left side.

If pretty Texas asked Santa for a single gift this season, it would be the gift of a loving senior “person,” one who’s asked Santa for the gift of a loving senior Boston. Because we at BTRC have a special Senior to Senior program, OUR gift to them both this giving season is a lower adoption fee. What a wonderful way to make this season truly jolly!
