Here are a few easy DIY frozen treats to help your dog beat the heat.
A couple of tips: Place your silicone treat molds or ice cube trays on a baking sheet or large platter before filling – this makes it easier to transport them to the freezer. Frozen treats are messy, we suggest your dog enjoys them outside!
Remember that treats are just that – treats – an occasional way to spoil your dog. Don’t give too many on the same day. All can be stored in the freezer in an air-tight container for up to two months.
Do not use imitation maple syrup, which contains xylitol, and check peanut butter ingredient labels to ensure they are xylitol-free. Xylitol as it is extremely toxic to dogs!

TROPICAL CANINE CUBES
1 large carrot, peeled and roughly chopped
1 cup diced pineapple
- Pulse pineapple and carrot in a blender until smooth.
- Add water, a little at a time as needed, to thin the consistency.
- Pour or spoon the mixture into a silicone treat mold or ice cube tray.
- Freeze for at least two hours or until solid before serving.
WATERMELON CARROT PUPSICLES
2 medium sized carrots, peeled
3 cups watermelon
1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
- Clean and roughly chop carrots. Cut watermelon into chunks and remove seeds.
- Pulse carrots in a blender until finely chopped.
- Add watermelon and puree until smooth.
- Pour or spoon into silicone treat mold or ice cube tray.
- Freeze for at least two hours or until solid before serving.
DAIRY-FREE FROZEN PUPPY YOGURT
12 ounces coconut milk
1 cup natural unsweetened peanut butter
1 cup carrot
1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
- Combine all ingredients in a blended and blend until smooth.
- Pour liquid into silicone treat molds or small freezable containers.
- Cover with plastic wrap or seal with a lid and freeze for 4-6 hours.
- Serve frozen!
FROZEN STRAWBERRY DOGSICLES
3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 cup strawberries, chopped
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- Puree the strawberries in a blender or food processor.
- Mix in the Greek yogurt and maple syrup.
- Pour into silicone treat molds or ice cube trays.
- Freeze for at least two hours or until solid before serving
