ADOPTED: Tite-Fille (Tifi)

Tifi was adopted on November 16, 2020!

Update – Oct 19

Tifi is ready for adoption!

Have you been longing for some Boston kisses from a super sweet girl? Need a cuddle buddy?  How about a companion to join you on a nice walk? Tifi is happy to do it all!

The moment she arrived to BTRC and hopped on to her foster mom’s lap, full of wiggles and kisses, she stole her heart. In fact, Tifi is a treasure who charms absolutely everyone she meets.

She is so eager to please, to learn new things – Tifi is just happy to do what you want to do, as long as you are together. Well-rounded, Tifi is trusting, sweet, and spirited, but can be Zen, too. A walk, some rousing playtime, a lazy morning and a nice sleep in? Tifi’s your girl.

She loves to play with her toys, whipping them around with abandon, and balls – well, Tifi thinks balls are the best toys ever! Soft toys, on the other paw, are meant for destruction, which she does swiftly and with pride. In fact, she may care for her toys just a tad too much, as the only point of dissension with the other dog in her foster home has been that dog’s failure to realize that Tifi’s toys are Tifi’s toys… not to be shared with other cheeky canines.

Tifi is tolerant of the home’s feline resident; although she doesn’t play with the cat, she is not at all concerned when the cat comes around her and would do well with another dog-savvy kitty.

Tifi is determined to sleep in the human bed. She’s a good sleeping partner, snuggling and snoring gently. While she does have a crate, she only pops in a couple of times a day to investigate the toys she keeps there.

Tifi is not really a barker, unless alerted to another dog’s presence when she will woof, or hilariously, when she insists on going on a walk and stomps and woofs and stares at her foster mom!

Tifi has the cutest habit of tucking her upper lip into her gum. It may look like she’s snarling, but this is Tifi’s endearing smile. She also elegantly crosses over her front paws like a southern belle. Perhaps because of her southern charm, Tifi is often chilly. Below 15 degrees or so she likes to sport a little t-shirt and sometimes a sweater too. Affectionate, exuberant and a fashionista – Tifi really is the whole package!

TIFI • 6 YEARS IN DECEMBER  • APPROX. 20 LBS • FULLY VETTED & SPAYED • HOUSETRAINED

Update – May 5

Tifi has settled in. She does love playing fetch and chewing on her toys. They must be VERY strong toys, as she has the strongest little teeth and jaw! She doesn’t mind if I try to take her toys, but she will never ever give them up. If one slips away, she is as fast as lightning to retrieve it.

Tifi gets along well enough with her foster sister Maya, unless Maya wants one of her toys. That is not an option for Tifi. It is her toy and hers alone. If Maya tries to play with a toy that Tifi was using, she is not impressed, and there have been a few little scraps.

She’s not interested in the cat whatsoever, and if the cat hops on the couch beside Tifi, she will let her sniff her head.

Tifi loves giving kisses but is learning that I don’t need her tongue IN my mouth! She lets me kiss her on the head and rub her tummy.

Tifi is good on the leash although pulls and barks when we see another dog out and about.

Tifi is a lovely mix of calm and home happy, with loving her walks and play time.

She has a good appetite, and does eat rather quickly for now, perhaps guarding her food. Likes her mint and parsley bones. She has started to enjoy the occasional baby carrot.

She loves to slurp fresh cold water from the metal water bowl!

Tifi is always cold. She needs to at least have on a little t-shirt but prefers a sweater on as well. At night she burrows to the bottom of the bed, under the sheet and quilts. She loves lying on the back patio basking in the warm sun, as all Bostons do!

She just turned 5 years old, and weighs about 25 lbs. She is tall and lean, and very pretty, she has an adorable underbite and sometimes gets her top lip tucked into her mouth, making her look like she is grinning.

Tifi is SO camera shy. To catch a picture of her face on is impossible. She looks away every time!

Tifi does experience some separation anxiety. When I leave the house just for 1 hour, she stands up at the door while I lock it and looks out the window until I come home. But WOW is she happy when I come home!

Most recent update: Tifi is just NUTS about balls. I knew that was true for small indestructible tennis balls. BUT, there was a nice family playing with a spongy type football outside my fence this weekend and she busted out! At first I was nervous and unlocked the fence gate…only to witness her jumping like a crazy girl! Up up up and again for the spongy football. She got it. About 5 times. The little neighbour girl was thrilled and hopped with Tifi every time. I owe by neighbours a new spongy football.

Everybody please welcome our new foster girl, Tite-Fille!

Tite-Fille, affectionately known as Tifi by her foster mama, is a very sweet, 4 years old, 20lb girl located in Montreal, Quebec.

Tite’s owner went out west and couldn’t take her with them. We’re just getting to know Tite but can tell you that she’s settling in well, keeping busy playing fetch, burying her toys in her blanket and chewing on her toys. She travelled great in the car on her two hour trip, in fact we’re told she loves car rides, which must mean that this little one likes adventures!

We’re told she gets along well with dogs and so far she’s getting along with her foster sister Maya. She’s not interested in the cat whatsoever. Tite is such a great dog, so far we can only fault her for the occasional toot and her breath (we’re looking into it) but we love her kisses just the same.

Overall Tite, or Tifi is in great spirits and excited to start her journey with us and find her forever home! Bienvenue Tifi!

Did you know that Tite-Fille is the 6th dog to come into our care recently? Each dog needs to be fully health-checked and vetted to get them ready for adoption. These vet bills really add up. Please consider making a small donation to help us help them. https://www.bostonterrierrescuecanada.com/donate/

Tifi says Merci!
