ADOPTED: Chance

Chance was adopted on September 18, 2020

UPDATE JULY 2020

To borrow from the immortal ABBA:  “Honey, I’m still free, take a chance on me…”
Yes! – Chance is ready to find his forever home!

Chance is a pretty special guy, and he’s looking for an equally special home.

While Chance does live with another dog in foster care, and gets along fine, we feel he’d be more content being your one-and only. A typical Boston mix of playfulness, energy and snuggles, he is smart, listens well, and is eager to please.

His leash skills have improved greatly in foster care, and Chance is now walking like a gentleman with the use of a halti (a head collar similar to a halter worn by horses) combined with positive reinforcement training.

Chance, unfortunately, does have leash reactivity, so he behaves threateningly toward other dogs he encounters when he’s out on walks. With training, this behaviour could improve, but it will take commitment and a lot of patience. Chance is a such a great dog, though, so it’s worth it!

The most important goal is for Chance to succeed in his new home, so if he is enrolled in BTRC-approved training to help with this issue during his first three months after adoption, BTRC will reimburse the training fee.

At six-years of age, Chance is in the prime of his life. “If you need me, let me know, gonna be around…”♫  But not around Rescue for long! We know someone is just waiting to add this wonderful companion to their home and heart!

CHANCE • 6 YEARS  • FULLY VETTED & NEUTERED • NO CHILDREN UNDER 13 • CAN BE REACTIVE ON LEASH

WELCOME CHANCE!

WELCOME CHANCE! 😍
Another handsome fellow has joined the BTRC foster family!
The basics: Chance is a single breed Boston Terrier male, neutered and weighing about 25 lbs. He is six years of age, and for those who like to ask “what’s your sign?”, Chance is a Taurus. ♉️
Although a very recent arrival, he has revealed a few Taurus traits – he’s loyal, determined, goal-driven, a little self-indulgent at times, with a bit of a stubborn streak. (Stubbornness, of course, can be found in Bostons of any astrological sign!)
Chance is also smart, playful, and mischievous, and a very loving companion to his people.
Sadly, Chance’s family suffered a personal tragedy, and could no longer provide the attention he deserved. It was not an easy decision, as Chance was very much loved, but they knew that rescue would provide all the TLC he needed to find his happily-ever-after. 💕

NOTE: Chance is being fostered in Ontario, and is not ready for adoption as he still needs to be fully assessed. As soon as he is ready to find his forever home, we will open up the applications and let everyone know on social media.

A great way you can help us help our foster dogs and get them ready for their furever homes is by making a donation or becoming a monthly donor. We appreciate your support!

CHANCE IS IN FOSTER CARE AND IS NOT UP FOR ADOPTION YET. Check our facebook page for updates on this special dude.
