ADOPTED: Tippie Lee

TIPPIE was adopted on November 21, 2020!

ADOPTION READY!

Are you looking for love in these uncertain times? A relationship based on mutual adoration? Seeking Boston kisses? Tippie Lee is just waiting to be your “one-and-only”!

In fact, it was Tippie’s need for an “exclusive” relationship that brought her to BTRC. Although much loved, she could not live happily with the other pets in her home.

Long walks on the beach? Ummm… Tippie walks perfectly on a leash – until she sees another dog, that is. She’s quick to react. Her fosters have worked hard to temper this, and there has been some small improvement. But Tippie still gets anxious even when she knows a walk is coming. Minimizing the excitement and apprehension towards walks is still a work in progress. Of course, you could always enjoy moonlight strolls when those pesky strange dogs are at home!

Otherwise, Tippie is exceptionally well-behaved. At eight years of age, this Boston-Frenchie mix is in excellent health. Playful, she enjoys her toys and loves a good game of fetch. She loves her food, too, and in her former home, worked out on the treadmill to help keep in shape.

Although Tippie knows it’s what’s on the inside that matters, in this day of social media, she is not above using her good looks to help her get what she wants.

And what does Tippie want? A loving adult home where she is the centre of attention. A fenced-in yard for exercise, in a quiet neighbourhood, would be ideal. Someone to scratch that favourite place just above her nose. Someone who tucks her in at night. A homebody like she is. Most importantly, Tippie wants someone who understands her and is ready to accept all the love, loyalty and affection she has to give!

UPDATE August 2020

Foster Update – Miss Tippie Lee!

Foster Mom says: She doesn’t chew on anything, she hasn’t had an accident, she doesn’t get into trouble. She listens to verbal cues (sit, stay, paw, toy, down, up, etc). She has been sleeping every night in the crate with no issue (sometimes she even puts herself to bed early!), she loves cuddles and playtime. She loves to give kisses and lots of affection. She definitely loves to eat. Every time we open the fridge, a cupboard, eat, etc, she is under our feet waiting for us to share.

Tippie is not quite ready for adoption yet. We’re working with her on her leash manners and reactivity with other dogs. Tippie gets very stimulated when out and about on walks and has a tendency to whine quite a bit when seeing dogs and other triggers. Foster Mom is doing an amazing job using positive reinforcement training techniques to work through her quirks.

Overall, they say she is “such a loving, sweet girl”!

INTRODUCING MISS TIPPIE LEE!

Tippie is a spayed 7-year old Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix. This beautiful girl with her unique markings weighs in at a petite 12 lbs. Tippie came to rescue when her heartbroken owners made the difficult decision that she would be happier in a home without other animals.

Tippie is described as the “epitome of a lap dog”, content to snuggle in her human’s lap for hours on end. Like most Bostons, however, she balances this cuddle time will full-tilt high energy activity – playing ball in the backyard is one of her favourite past-times. She also runs on the treadmill (although whether that is to maintain her girlish physique or just to burn off energy we’ve yet to find out!)

NOTE: Tippie is being fostered in Ontario, and is not ready for adoption as she still needs to be fully assessed. As soon as she is ready to find her forever home, we will open up the applications and let everyone know on social media.

A great way you can help us help our foster dogs and get them ready for their furever homes is by making a donation or becoming a monthly donor. We appreciate your support!
