This brindled beauty is a whirlwind of fun, pumped full of pep and raring to go. As small as she is, she still enjoys endless games of fetch and tug-o-war. Slow runs on short legs are more her speed, however, and when she’s burned up all of that famous Boston energy, Ciela becomes, in the words of her foster mom, “the snuggliest bug you will ever find.” Whether cuddling on laps or crawling under the covers at bedtime, she’s affection paws-onified, smothering her foster with kisses and loving everyone she meets.

A quick study, she knows some basic commands, walks well on a harness, rides well in the car, and enjoys being groomed. But she has much yet to learn about being a well mannered, well balanced Boston. Although she’s adjusted to the dogs and cats in her foster home and accepts familiar dogs, she reacts strongly to dogs who approach while she’s walking and those who seem overly territorial. What she still needs then is patient and ongoing socialization to lessen her reactions and to keep her from jumping up (something she does with people as well) and releasing those familiar Boston choke/snorts.

Nor is Ciela much of a “pack” player, preferring to play on her own than with other dogs. Her “table manners” lack refinement and still require some polishing. If given the chance, she will eagerly sample the other pets’ food in their bowls and munch on the cats’ litter. She has a sensitive stomach (too much kitty litter perhaps?), and although adding pumpkin to her meals has eased the situation, what may be required is an entirely new diet.

Having nearly perfected her housetraining skills, Ciela’s also grown more comfortable inside her crate, whining and barking only briefly, then stopping altogether. Because she still has several issues to resolve, and because she’s such a high-octane Boston, active and affectionate Ciela needs an active home (with older children, please), with loving and patient adopters committed to completing what’s been started, and to keeping her well exercised and mentally stimulated. Their reward? Oodles of kisses and cuddles above the covers and under them.
