ADOPTION READY!
Ella is looking for her forever home!

Described by her foster mom as a sweetheart, 8-year-old Ella is a wonderful companion, content to cuddle when you want to relax, and play when it’s time to play. Her passions include her toys, walks, treats, and mealtime!

Ella knows her basic commands, is clever and keen to learn new things. Her love of treats will make training that much easier. Ella is fully house-trained. She has been known to seek out her crate for a nap, but much prefers it when the door remains open. She can be crated when you need to go out, but, although she may cry a bit when you leave, she is not destructive and has been fine staying home alone uncrated.

After a slow and patient introduction, Ella has been fine with the other calm, small dog in her foster home. But she is very selective about the dogs she befriends. Overly excited/rambunctious dogs, whether in the home or met on walks, can get her fur up. If she had her choice, Ella would love to be an only-dog, and would delight in her human’s undivided attention. We think a single-dog home would be the best fit for Ella as well.

Ella is good on walks, and stays close beside you, rarely pulling unless she sees a squirrel or another dog. She has adjusted to city living, but as you can’t always be sure what other dogs she will deem worthy of her friendship, Ella is not a candidate for dog parks. A fenced yard, although not mandatory, would be a bonus for Ella.

Ella has not been tested with cats. She has not lived with young children while in rescue’s care, nor were there any children in her prior home. For this reason, Ella’s forever home will be with adults or older teens.

From German origins, the name “Ella” means all/completely. This describes our Ella to perfection – she is just waiting to give you all her affection, and love you completely!

UPDATE Aug 17, 2020

Foster Update! 🐾
Our foster girl Ella had her spay surgery last week and is doing great. They also removed a few teeth and removed a lump. It’s likely just a fatty lump but please send out a little prayer just in case. We should get the results sometime this week. Foster Dad has been working with her on crate training and leash manners. We hear she goes nuts for balls and frisbees and as you can see, like a typical Boston she loves to lay in the sun in her downtime. Overall Ella is doing great and we thank her foster Dad for taking such great care of her. 💕 Ella is located in Toronto and should be posted for adoption soon, stay tuned!

SEXY IN THE CITY – MEET ELLA!

Lovely Ella has recently joined the BTRC foster family.

At 8 years of age, this pretty girl appears in good overall health, aside from a small fatty lump (most likely a benign lipoma) which will be addressed when she is spayed.

A typical Boston Terrier, Ella loves nothing more than being with her person. She is cuddly, attentive, and very kissy! She enjoys bath time, and at bedtime, she much prefers to snuggle under your bed covers – although crate-training is a compulsory course on her current foster home curriculum. She’s also taking a refresher course on basic manners, and will need some extra credit, positive reinforcement training to help learn an appropriate reaction when meeting other dogs on walks.

All-in-all, Ella is a treasure, and once she is fully vetted and assessed, will make a wonderful addition to a Boston-loving home!

A great way you can help us help our foster dogs and get them ready for their furever homes is by making a donation or becoming a monthly donor. We appreciate your support!
