ADOPTED: Gabe

Gabe was adopted on October 18, 2020

The smile says it all. Handsome Gabe is on the search for a loving forever family of his very own.

As is obvious from his pictures, Gabe is not a purebred Boston Terrier. But hey, who cares about the show ring? Gabe will take first place in your heart!

Gabe came to BTRC after his human passed away. He was shy and, understandably, a bit unsure. But he’s becoming more carefree and confident with each passing day.

Sweet and very smart, Gabe loves to learn, enjoys dog “puzzles” and is treat-motivated so training is fun!

Gabe does well with other dogs in a home setting, off-leash. There are no felines in his foster home, but he did live with one previously, so we expect he’d do fine with a dog-savvy cat.

Gabe loves to go for walks; we think this is a new experience for him. Exploring outside is exciting, so he likes to pull to sniff and check out all the new things. He walks best on a halti/gentle leader, and we’re sure his leash skills will continue to improve with more walking adventures.

Meeting new people is still a teeny bit scary… Gabe really wants to be your buddy, though, so after a bit of warming up, he’s your BFF.

Gabe likes to be with “his person” so you won’t ever be lonely! He happily snuggles up on the couch or bed, and loves to play fetch.

Not well socialized in his previous home, there’s still a couple of things that make Gabe worry. He understands basic commands, is fully house-trained and crate-trained, but will bark when left alone. He’s afraid his human will go away forever once again. Because of the barking, no apartments or condos for Gabe.

Gabe also shares a very common fear of thunderstorms and fireworks. He will shake and hide in the smallest darkest corner he can find until the “danger” passes.

Gabe does have the Boston habit of jumping up, and at 30 lbs., he could easily topple a toddler. While there are no young ones in his foster home, we are told Gabe did bark at children he encountered. To ensure what’s best for Gabe, and his new family, Gabe will be adopted to a home without small kids.

Are you the one to give Gabe the stability, security and all the love he deserves? He’s waiting for your application!

GABE • 7 YEARS YOUNG • FULLY VETTED & NEUTERED • NO CHILDREN UNDER 13 • FULLY DETACHED HOME

WELCOME GABE! Another recent arrival to BTRC, Gabe, a six-year-old Boston-mix, found himself in need of a new place to call home when his owner passed away.

Gabe finds the outside world just a tad overwhelming, as he did not receive much exercise or socialization in his prior home. With such a huge upheaval in his life, it’s understandable that he is a bit anxious.

Still, as his smile attests, and with the help of his dedicated foster home, Gabe is ready to learn and experience new things. In fact, he has already discovered a new great love – BALLS!

With some time, patience, and TLC, handsome Gabe is going to make someone a wonderful companion.

A great way you can help us help our foster dogs and get them ready for their furever homes is by making a donation or becoming a monthly donor. We appreciate your support!
