Hank

Howdy Hank!

There are no bad dogs. But some dogs come to us with a little more baggage. And big handsome Hank is one of those dogs.

Hank was transferred to BTRC from a shelter because he’s not ready to be adopted into a new home. He is super-stressed right now and we are giving him time to decompress.

What’s his story? We really don’t know. Hank can be reactive in some situations, and this could be due to a whole host of reasons – inadequate socialization, a medical condition, a past traumatic event, or to paraphrase Lady Gaga, “put your paws up, ’cause he was born this way”.

Our number one priority is to get to know this fellow! Hank will start his journey with Rescue in a “board and train” environment, where he can be fully assessed and work with a positive-reinforcement training professional. Once he’s a bit more settled, Hank will also need a complete veterinary workup.

Dogs like Hank aren’t easy. And they aren’t inexpensive. But we firmly believe that Hank deserves a chance at being understood and finding his own happily-ever-after.

NOTE: Hank is being fostered in Ontario and is on a behavioural hold.
