Here’s the story of a dog named Maggie,
Who was living on the streets all on her own,
Then the shelter reached out to Boston Rescue,
Soon she was in a loving foster home.

Here’s the story, of a dog named Hermann,
Who was lonely ’cause he had no one to play.
He was missing his Set for Life Boston brother,
Trooper Georgie who had sadly passed away.

Till the one day when Maggie met this fellow
And they knew that it was much more than a hunch,
That these two with their humans form a family.
That’s the way they became the Boston Bunch!

Congratulations to Maggie who has found her forever home! She fit in just so very well, filling the hole that Set for Life foster Trooper Georgie left when he passed away from cancer last year – in the hearts of both his foster moms and little brother Hermann. We couldn’t be happier for them all! ❤️ Thank you to everyone who has supported Maggie on her journey to this happily-ever-after!

 

 

 

 

 

Introducing Maggie

Last weekend BTRC was asked by a shelter if we could help a little Boston/bulldog mix who had been found as a stray. She had infections in both her ears, and because this is either a chronic condition, or she has never received proper treatment, the shelter wanted to move her to rescue for further veterinary care.

A new start deserves a new name, and Stray Female is now Maggie – her fosters call her ‘Maggie-Waggie’ because her tail never seems to stop. As we have no history on this sweet-faced girl, we don’t know how she ended up on the street.

We can tell you that she and her foster brother, a BTRC alum, have made fast friends. She is very friendly and playful but doesn’t appear to know many commands, so there is lots of learning in her future. Her fosters describe her as “energetic, strong, rambunctious and loving”. She’s also very cuddly and affectionate, loves to give kisses, and has a very high vertical jump! (She’ll need to learn that using her springboard feet to plant kisses on people’s faces isn’t the best of ideas though!)

Maggie is scheduled to see our vet to address her medical needs. She’s very happy to be out of the shelter, warm and safe in a caring foster home.
