ADOPTED: Bruno

Adopted August 17, 2015

There’s nothing as appealing as the appeal in a Boston’s big brown eyes. And Bruno, so bright and so bouncy, is no exception.

Pert and playful at a trim 20 pounds, he’s an active American Gentleman actively looking for love. And speaking of activity. Bruno enjoys running round the yard, wrestling with his furry foster sib, playing chase, and games of tug-o-war. He enjoys the kiddy pool, jumping in and splashing around on hot days, and although he can swim, he’s not yet certain that he likes it. What he does like is snuggling beside his foster dad on the sofa in front of the TV and then later in bed, and he LOVES having his belly rubbed.

An excellent passenger in the car, Bruno either spends his time watching the world whiz by or snoozing happily in the back seat.

Already well versed in his basic commands (sit and down), he’s highly intelligent and eager to learn more. But as endearing as young Bruno is, he’s still learning the ins and outs of proper doggy etiquette, especially in the area of socialization – both with people and other dogs. Working with his foster dad, Bruno’s on-leash behaviour is steadily improving, and although not immediately comfortable around strangers, slow and measured introductions are putting him at ease more quickly.

Because he also tends to resource guard, he must still be taught to be non-reactive and to share. With youth on his side, and with firmness and patience, guidance and consistency, Bruno has the potential to mature into a well-balanced and loving adult. The ideal home for him then, is one with no young children and no other pets (or possibly one other dog), with very experienced and highly dedicated adopters, both eager for a challenge and firmly committed to working with Bruno until he’s the best Bruno he can be.
