Checking in with Charlie

It’s been a while since we’ve updated you on Charlie. This three-year-old Frenchie/Boston mix is an absolute clown with people he knows and trusts. Loving, playful and a bit cheeky! 😉

Charlie does have anxiety about new things, strange dogs and people. He is definitely a ladies’ man, and accepts women much more readily than men.

To help build Charlie’s confidence, he has been enrolled in training classes to complement the counterconditioning and desensitization (CC/DS) exercises our trainer Dan Josselyn has set up for him to do at home. He’s a very bright boy, and you can see the concentration in his face as he practises his ‘down’ with foster dad.

Though it will definitely take time and patience, Charlie is getting both those things in spades from his wonderful foster family

NOTE: Charlie is being fostered in Ontario. He is not yet ready to be considered for adoption. BTRC does not maintain a waiting list, so no applications will be accepted at this time.

Welcome Charlie!

Charlie is a recent arrival to BTRC. A much-loved family member, Charlie came to rescue as he and an intact male dog in the household were not getting along. Although a difficult choice, the family decided the right thing for Charlie would be to find him another home where he could enjoy his best life. (The other dog was actually Charlie’s dad, but hey, father-son relationships can be complicated. 😉)

Later this month Charlie, who is a Boston Terrier/French Bulldog mix, will be celebrating his third birthday. We’re still getting to know him, but so far he’s been a very good boi!
