Wall-E was adopted on June 23, 2023.

Welcome Back Wall-E!

Although we do everything we can to ensure each match is the right match, sometimes an adoption doesn’t work out. Could be it isn’t the right dog for the home. Or the right home for the dog. This doesn’t mean they’re a bad dog, or that the adoptive home has failed. It just means it wasn’t a good fit.

Such is the case with Wall-E. It wasn’t working out at his new home and he has now been returned to BTRC’s care.

Fortunately Wall-E’s original foster family was able to welcome him back with open arms – and open paws – because he and his foster bro Steve are overjoyed to be reunited! 🐾

Adoptable Wall-E!

This 9-year-old 18 lb. boy is bursting with love and full of spunk.

Throughout his 3+ months in his foster home Wall-E has not met a dog or human he hasn’t liked! Wall-E quickly becomes fast friends with humans of all ages. And it didn’t take long for him to clue into the fact that the younger the human, the more food they may drop on the floor! Always helpful, he is happy to be on clean up duty when human food enters the equation. He is good with dogs both large and small but would prefer his forever canine sibling to be a calm companion who understands the need to mix in longer periods of rest and relaxation between bursts of playtime. 😊

Wall-E will bark when it’s appropriate – someone leaving or coming home for instance – but is not a vocal dog. He’s not destructive in the house either but is not fully house trained. While his foster family have been working on this his preference seems to be to remain fashionable in his belly band and avoid the inconvenience of traversing the stairs to get to the yard.

He is well mannered on a leash and enjoys short walks around the block when the weather is warm and the sun is shining.  Once the cold weather hit Wall-E confirmed his fair-weather Boston status and much prefers to play with a ball, his toys or his foster brother (another 9-year-old Boston) in the house for exercise instead of bundling up and braving the cold!  Wall-E, a talented blanket thief, will wrap himself up and make a cozy warm bed out of any blankets within reach. His absolute favourite spot is a laundry basket full of freshly washed and warm towels from the dryer!

Upon his arrival into BTRC’s care Wall-E was suffering from joint pain in his back and hind leg and was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Some of his discomfort was attributed to Lyme, and Wall-E underwent a 4-week antibiotic treatment which helped his symptoms tremendously. Wall-E unfortunately will never be considered officially “cured” from Lyme disease but is currently symptom free. There is a chance that symptoms could recur and would most likely be treated again with antibiotics. Yearly screening will be important as a precaution.

Wall-E also has low grade patella luxation, but given his age and energy level, a conservative management plan including daily pain medication is helping to slowly build muscle mass to improve function and no surgery is indicated at this time.

Wall-E has officially completed all his vetting, is up to date on all vaccines and has fully recovered from his dental surgery earlier this month.  With his sparkling clean teeth and nice fresh breath, he is waiting patiently to love and kiss his new forever family!

It’s Twixtmas…

the period stretching from December 27 to New Year’s Eve that many of us spend eating leftovers and not knowing what day it is. To pass some time, BTRC foster Wall-E has been watching Seinfeld reruns on TV. He’s really getting into it – never saw it before and thinks this show about nothing is really something. 😂

Hello Santa Paws!

With the kind help of his human foster brother (one of the kids he is “especially loving”) Wall-E has prepared his letter to Santa Paws.

Wall-E is obviously feeling pretty confident in his foster home, as his list is fairly extensive. But, as he says himself, he is “a very good boy” 😉.

Welcome Wall-E!

Wall-E is a friendly, happy and spunky nine-year-old neutered male Boston Terrier. Sadly, life circumstances changed for his family and because they wanted to do the best thing for Wall-E, they transferred him to BTRC.

He’s only just arrived in foster care and will need some time to get accustomed to his new environment. So far, Wall-E has been a complete gentleman, and we all look forward to getting to know him better 😃

Wall-E is being fostered in the Niagara Region of Ontario and is not yet ready to be considered for adoption.
